๐Ÿ˜ฎ Oooppps! Sorry I’ve been MIA these past few days! I am celebrating Rosh Hashanah virtually with my congregation. I have an active role this year. I was on a High Holiday Panel Discussion via Zoom discussing Jewish Black Lives yesterday. If you know me, I’m very introverted so this took a lot of strength to step out of my shell, but I am glad I did it. If you missed it, there is a link in my stories. I will add it to my bio later. For those present, here’s a recap of my suggested books: ๐Ÿ“š Black Fatigue: How Racism Erodes the Mind, Body, and Spiritย by Mary Frances Winters ๐Ÿ“š Conversations in Black: On Power, Politics, and Leadership
by Ed Gordon ๐Ÿ“š Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You: A Remix of the National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning
by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds ๐Ÿ“š Stamped from the Beginning
by Ibram X. Kendi ๐Ÿ“š Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do
by Jennifer Eberhardt ๐Ÿ“š Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools
by Monique W. Morris ๐Ÿ“š The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
by Michelle Alexander ๐Ÿ“š Other People’s Children: Cultural Conflict in the Classroom
by Lisa Delpit ๐Ÿ“š Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?
by Beverly Daniel Tatumย  ๐Ÿ“š So You Want to Talk About Race
by Ijeoma Oluo ๐Ÿ“š Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents
by Isabel Wilkerson ๐Ÿ“š Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome
by Joy DeGruy *More will be added to this listing and sent in the Temple newsletter. For non-members, I will share in my stories. I will play catch up on a few overdue reviews shortly! L’shanah Tovah! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฏ ๐Ÿ’‹ xoxo,
Kat
