❤️ / 💔 This is a cautionary tale of epic proportions. This story teaches us of the monsters we least expect. As well as guarding the pedestals and individuals we place upon them. It is a call to action to end the devaluing of Black girls. The undertones of empowerment to value and cherish ourselves as Black women was the biggest public service announcement of this novel! It screams, PROTECT OUR GIRLS’ CHILDHOOD! As someone who has experienced grown men‘s wondering eyes and advances as a child, I felt this book on a cellular level. The world is a dangerous place for all girls, but especially BLACK little girls. The disbelieving, discrediting, and sexualization of Black girls in American is something that needs immediate attention. Whew! This book right here is sure to get the conversation rolling!

Note: There is a content warning in the beginning of this book… Read it and prepare your mind! This story is the wildest yet by TDJ!

💫 There’s not enough stars in the sky to rate this book and give it justice! 😉
