πŸ’‘A Song of Wraiths and Ruin presents us with a grief-stricken Black princess (yay), Karina, with a dark necromancy mission possible by killing a King. πŸ’€ But she has to marry to make one first. πŸ₯Ί Enters a loveable family-centered desperate love interest, Malik, on an equally dark mission to kill said princess. Where their paths cross is certain death, but also the possibility of the Princess/ Pauper love fairy tales are made of! Whew!

❀️ / πŸ’” First this story instantly gets you emotionally invested in both characters, it sort if lags in the middle, but then the climax and ending leaves you breathless. While I rejoiced at seeing a Black princess, funny enough, I liked the male protagonist more then I cared for the female. Yet, I got a rush from the alternating point of views scheming and ”all ready to murder” tendencies, while I was holding out hope that they would fall in love already. The unknown and development was nerve wreaking. Yes, the angst of ”waiting to see” was real with this one.
