“The Black skin is not a badge of shame, but rather a glorious symbol of national greatness.” – Marcus Garvey

The resilience of Black people is unlike any other and is beautifully written in prose, verse, nonfiction and fiction. There are Black authors in all genres who write about what it means to be Black and why we are proud of our melanin. The history of Black people is traumatic but Black history should not be synonymous with slavery. We are not a monolith. We are creators. We are writers. We are readers. We Are Our Ancestors’ Wildest Dream.

Join us on the #BlackResilienceBookstaTour hosted by @prettylittlebookshelf starting July 1st -31st , as we uplift and celebrate the literary accomplishments of various brilliant Black authors. We implore you to read and fall in love with Black literature all year round. Read and review books by Black authors. Buy books from black owned bookstores. Knowledge is power and Black stories are powerful. Reading is a privilege and we must take the opportunity to diversify our reading. Make sure you follow #BlackResilienceBookstaTour to keep up with all the posts by these amazing Black bookstagrammers as we showcase #Blackliterature.
